The Beaver Movie Review

A successful businessman and loving father finds a unique means of coping with his mental illness in this drama from director Jodie Foster. When Walter Black (Mel Gibson) finds himself stuck in a downward spiral, the only solution is to separate from his wife, Meredith (Jodie Foster), and their two sons, Henry (Riley Thomas Stewart) and Porter (Anton Yelchin). Just as he nearly hits rock bottom, the discovery of a beat-up beaver hand puppet offers him a unique opportunity to pull himself back from the brink of death. By using The Beaver to speak with others, Walter develops the abilities to express the suppressed feelings that were slowly eating him away from the inside.

Earthkeeper-what does it mean to you?

I wanna be an Earthkeeper.

It's a bold statement and carries with a responsibility of caring for Mother Earth. Not everyone can be one and the search is on for the One.

Timberland created the term "Earthkeeper" As they put it, “Earth” means the place we live in and “keeper” means guardian. Some call it the environmentalist, a person who cares deeply about environmental issues concerning the Earth and wil do within their capability to protect the place they live in.

It is of vital importance that the action begins NOW...as I am typing away,do you know how many forests are being depleted?

Timberland is on the lookout for like-minded people which is why they are rounding up a team of Earthkeepers to be ambassadors and as they are an outdoor company that produces boots, shoes and accessories.

And I applaud them for being a company that cares for the Earth and want to do something about it.Besides carrying out regional measures and eco-friendly activities worldwide, they bear in mind to increase the usage of renewable energy as well as organic and recyclable materials in the production and transportation of our products.

This is an ASTOUNDING fact and I never knew till now that Timberland is the first company in the world to use recycled rubber from discarded tyres to manufacture the soles of our Earthkeepers shoes collection.

The best part is that 10 years ago, the company began one of its community service projects to support greening activities in China’s Horqin Desert that is situated in Inner Mongolia, through Japan based non-profit organisation —GreenNet.

What's their role? The once lush and green Horqin Pasture has given way to Horqin Desert due to excessive overgrazing and deforestation by humans.

What's Timberland's role in all this? With the hope that the place can be turned back into its former glory-lush green pastures. From April 2010, Timberland have planted 1 million trees, and are on a journey to plant a further 2 million trees! Talk about dedication! I simply salute them and support them in their endeavour!

I have decided to be an Earthkeeper, have you? Are you IN or out?

“Be a Timberland Earthkeeper and support desert greening in Horqin!” http://www.earthkeepers2011.com/sg/action_earthkeepers.aspx

As Timberland has its GREEN acronyms for corporate responsibility, I too have mine. From the acronyms, it will clearly depict why I deserve a trip to Horqin.

G
is for Gratitude. I am grateful to Mother Earth for providing me a place to live in and giving me trees so that we can co-exist with them. Just as the trees give us oxygen to live anf breathe, we give them carbon dioxide to make food for energy.

R
is for READY! I am ever ready to be called upon to do my part for Mother Earth anytime!

E

is for enthusiasm. Being a young adult, I am prepared to put on my boots and head to Horqin Desert to help in the efforts to restore to its former glory by planting trees and doing the community work.

E
is for educating others. If I get to go to Horqin, I am sure it will a mind-blowing experience and I will come back more equipped with more practical knowledge(I know in theory but practical experience beats theory anytime!) Everyone learns by doing!

N
is for natural. I am a lover of all thing nature and natural. I do not believe in man-made stuff. If you look back at history, how did people survive??

There you have it! My GREEN reasons...now it's up to you to choose. Am I your ideal choice?

LONDON BOULEVARD-MOVIE REVIEW

London Boulevard is about an ex-convict in London who by a twist of fate becomes the bodyguard of a reclusive actress.
A man of few words but handy with guns, Colin Farrell is perfectly cast as Mitchell.
He seems to want out of his old life but the past seems to be creeping up on him. Eventually he falls in love with the one he was supposed to protect.
If you are a fan of crime movie, you might enjoy it,however you might find 104 minutes is too draggy.
I would give the film 3 out of 5 popcorns. The only saving grace is Keira Knightley and Colin Farell. Enough said.

What exactly is IPL??

Intense pulsed light (IPL) is a technology aimed at producing light of high intensity during a very short period of time. It involves specific lamps together with capacitors whose rapid discharge provides the high energy required.

It is method of hair removal from the body mostly commonly employed by medical practitioners or estheticians. It involves the use of a specially constructed xenon flash lamp and focusing optics.

Black Magic Treatment uses a formula specially created in Korea known as Photo Reborn Gel or Plasma Magic Gel. Unlike any conventional gel used in IPL treatments, it is black in colour instead of being clear.

Black Magic Treatment does not target pigments but insteads rejuvenates the skin by tightening pores and reducing sebum production.

The treatment has been proven to be safe as it is kept within energy levels. However, patients taking steroids or anti-cogulant drugs or experience tanning should avoid for at least 30 days.
