Winter Wonderland!

So Christmas is a month away and what better way to spend it with snow and winter climate?

I am going to share with you my favourite five places as to where to be this Christmas to experience a magical-filled Christmas where there is snow and the spirit of Christmas without burning a hole in your pocket!

1) Snow World in Genting Highlands, Malaysia

The new Snow World is newly renovated and is located at Level T2A, Genting First World Plaza. It features a winter downtown and World Heritage concept with a breath-taking view of the whole surrounding which makes it an ideal place for photo-taking. The temperature is -6 degrees Celsius and 22.8k sq ft which makes it the biggest winter wonderland in Malaysia!

2)Gulmarg, Kashmir

It boasts the world's highest ski-lift and it attracts more adventurous skiers and snowboarders, as the gondola rises to almost 4OOOm, you are guaranteed a cold,white and snowy Christmas, so go ahead and grab some cheap flights to Delhi this Christmas!

3) Mont Blanc,France

Europe's highest mountain is a sure hit on Christmas Day, even if you do not fancy the 4810m hike, the flights to France are usually exceptionally cheap and you can find it with ease. Being at the French Alps is the excellent start to the Christmas season!

4)Hokkaido, Japan

I suppose this place needs no introduction as it is already so well known to globetrotting skiers and snowboarders and the northernmost Japanese island of Hokkaido receives massive snowfalls every winter which means a White Christmas is certain. The ski resorts of Niseko, Furano and Rusutsu will be full of powdery conditions this Christmas! A not-to-be missed destination if you have a reasonable budget!

5) Lapland

Lapland is home to Santa's global manufacturing base and distribution centre but it is not a country by itself but within the Arctic Circle which spans Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Kola Peninsula of Russia. A white Christmas is a sure bet and you might even meet Santa himself! 

Double Sensation Pizza at Pre-Launch Party!

I was invited to a Christmas Pizza Pre-launch Party by Pizza Hut on 16 November 2012.

Although it was raining heavily that very evening, it did not dampen my spirit and I saw many familiar faces of my fellow blogger friends.

To warm up and get the party mood going, we had an ice-breaker game whereby we form a team to guess names of Christmas songs from pictures given.

It was fun racking our brains over the different Christmas songs and all the brain work made me soooo hungry! Do I smell pizza??

Introducing the menu for the lovely evening with The Pizza Hut Team!

1) FRUTTI PRAWN SALAD

The vegetables are crunchy and the salad must be mixed well...besides prawns, other ingredients could be added. Four of us shared this and before we knew it, we all polished it off with the mayonnaise sauce.

2) TRIO CHICKEN PLATTER

What can I say? Meet Yum, Yum and Yum! This trio of chicken wings prepared in different styles- spicy was my favourite! Recommended for chicken-loving fans!


3) DOUBLE SENSATION PIZZA

The pizza we all had been waiting for the whole entire evening: Double Sensation Pizza

I feel so fortunate to be the group of exclusive bloggers to witness the making of the pizza. It's oozing with cheese and all so delicious with its multitude of ingredients and guess what! It's double-crust..yes, you heard it right, double the crust, double the ingredients, double the goodness!

After a quick demonstration by the chef, we were split into 2 teams to compete on making the Double Sensation pizza by memory! Oops! How many sausages were put on the pizza?? How to fold the crust??

It was now our team's turn to try our hand at making the pizza! I have absolute faith in my 2 team members, Alicia and Malcolm! Go! Go! Go!

They tried to replicate the exact same Double Sensation Pizza and boy! did they finish quickly till the final countdown and as we waited with bated breath to the announcement of the results.

My team did not win but they did a good job with their effort! How could they beat the boyfriend and girlfriend couple who shared sizzling chemistry just like The Double Sensation Pizza!

After all the excitement, we returned to our tables for our next dish of Chilli Crab Baked Rice!

It was not too spicy and there were lots of crab meat and it certainly goes well with the baked rice. I wish I could another round of this dish-shall order this with my friends for Christmas!

Look at the Roasted Chicken Leg with Garlic Cheese Sauce!

The chicken leg goes well with the sauce and the vegetables on the side could be more though! Nevertheless, it is enough to share for two.

And last but not least,what a fitting way to round off dinner with Sweet Delights for dessert.

with Double Sensation Pizza

It will be launched on 21 November 2012. It comes in 2 rings of inner crust with cheesy chicken sausage and an outer crust with 3 -flavour cheese. 

Toppings include smoked chicken and zucchini in pepper alfredo sauce in the inner ring and turkey ham, mushrooms and capsicums in salsa sauce on the outer ring. Did I not mention that it contains plenty of ingredients?

It is definitely a pizza that will surprise you with every bite.

Snow World Genting is now undergoing renovation and I believe when it open doors again the -6 degrees temperature and the Play Slide are sure to excite the whole family.

I cannot wait to spend Christmas in Genting Snow World with my family and friends.

My all-time favourite song for Christmas is "White Christmas" and I know I will enjoy and have fun at Genting Snow World!

First World Plaza at Genting, besides being the highest shopping mall in Malaysia, it has more than 60 retail and 70 F&B outlets plus attractions from 8 months to 80 years old!

Which means if I am feeling hungry in the middle of the night, I can always head out from my hotel room to grab a bite. Isn't it awesome?? I certainly think it is!!

GENTING FIRST WORLD PLAZA OPENS 10AM-1AM FROM 9 NOVEMBER TO 31ST DECEMBER 2012!

After the 1 day Deepavali public holiday yesterday, I have made plans for the next extended holiday to book a ticket to Genting. Why you may ask?? It is because I am raring to go for shopping at Genting First World Plaza.

Do you know that it is open from 10am-1am from 9 November onwards till 31st December 2012? That's like 15 hours non-stop shopping?? 

I usually do not do my work for prolonged hours but when you talk about shopping? You bet I can go with little food, drink and sleep simply because I eat, drink and breathe SHOPPING!

Call me a shopaholic if you must...I am destined to be one for life and what better place to shop than in First World Plaza Genting.

Ricciotti Food Tasting on 6 November 2012

Being a Nuffnang Glitterati+ member certainly has its perks! For instance, on 6 November 2012, I was invited to Ricciotti's newest branch at Star Vista. It has two other outlets at The Riverwalk(I was there for drinks with my friends on Sunday) and China Square.

Here are the dishes that I tasted:

STARTERS:

1)Caprese (Mozzarella cheese with tomatoes and fresh basil)

The basil goes well with the cheese, giving a delightful taste in the mouth.

2)Fritto Misto(Combination of suppli, calamari and pollo fritto) *MUST TRY*

The pollo fritto is the best among the 3 items in this dish and it certainly goes well with the mayonnaise provided.

3)Cozze (Fresh mussels with toasted garlic bread in marinara)*MY FAVOURITE MAIN*

The marinara sauce goes well with the fresh mussels and I ate it with glee as if they were picked fresh from the sea. No fishy smell and the toasted garlic bread complements it perfectly.

4)Caesar salad with chicken

A must order for an appetiser. The dish is enough to feed at least 3-4 people. I love the mashed potatoes and the baby carrots...

5)Garlic and anchovy pizza bread

The pizza bread was crispy but looked overburnt, had to remove the burnt parts but overall, the anchovies were plenty.

MAIN:
1)1.5kg grilled boneless whole chicken in Ricciotti's signature marinade *MUST-TRY*


There must be something special about Ricciotti's sauces because every dish with a sauce goes well with it.

2) 1.5kg diavola chicken in Ricciotti's spicy marinade

3)400g pork ribs in Ricciotti's own slow-cooked with glaze

4)Pizzotto(Bacon, eggs, cheese, pomodoro, mozzarella)

The best pizza among the ones I tried especially with the centred egg and bacon bits-two of my favourite ingredients in a pizza! I can have the whole pizza! *greedy*

5)Linguine Al Granchio(Linguine with crabmeat in creamy tomato sauce) *MY FAVOURITE MAIN*


Goodness! If you ever go to Ricciotti, you must order this main dish and you will have to taste it to find out why I say so! This dish leaves me speechless because it's so creamy and yummy linguine!

7)Spaghetti Marinara

DESSERTS:

1)Soffiato *MY FAVOURITE DESSERT*

Soffiato is awesomely delectable and the vanilla ice-cream complements it very well. It is recommended to eat whilst it's straight from the oven.  2)Lemon Meringue

I never enjoyed sour stuff but this lemon meringue is sourishly sweet and I am sure people who dislike sour things will find this pleasant. 

3)Grandma's cake

4)Tiramisu *MUST-TRY*

Tiramisu in Italian means "pick me up" and I am sure once you pick it up to put into your mouth, you would not want to stop eating. It is a good dessert to share with someone special! *wink*

5)Garibaldi cheesecake

6)Chocolate brownie

The chocolate brownie was gone in the flash before I could take a proper photo of it and I suppose the photo says it all-it's so delicious that everyone grabbed a bite of it and I would say it's paired well with a cup of hot Italian chocolate and an Italian hunk! :)

7)Ricotta cake with strawberry jam

The Ricotta cake was a bit too sourish for my liking, nevertheless the strawberry jam made up for it-it's best eaten with the jam and the berries together.

Overall experience: 
Riciotti is the perfect place to have a meetup with family and friends and I might consider having my next birthday celebration there as they serve my favourite dish of mussels in marinara sauce! *yummy*
